Consumer Kid!

Presented as a coming-of-age story, this painting series grapples with the inherited reality of a society that equates success and goodness to wealth and appearance. Each illustration reflects on the materialist culture of the Western world and seeks to find something of better value. Malnourished and unsightly, the self is cast away under the authority of normality and rendered powerless - unable to evolve. The cure to our perpetual lacking is not external, but rather it is hidden beneath the theatrical flesh.
